The Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is split into 3 sub-committees, each aiming to address specific aspects that make up the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Curriculum Initiatives
Goals: Increasing student resource awareness and availability; Increasing transparency; Gathering data with respect to course outcomes and impacts on URM attrition; Implementing curriculum improvements.
Faculty/Staff Initiatives
Goals: Providing opportunities for faculty and staff DEI training; Increasing colloquium/seminar speaker diversity to reflect the demographics of all DCB stakeholders; Addressing student/faculty power dynamics; Increasing faculty diversity.
Students Affairs Initiatives
Goals: Implementing mandatory DEI training for new graduate students; Increasing student participation in departmental governance; Restructuring professional development activities; Establishing a dedicated graduate student lounge/safe-space; Increasing student diversity through recruitment and retention.
