Syntheses of novel pi-conjugated polymers and their opto-electronic characterization

Bio

I was born and raised in Bavaria, Germany. After I received my degree in chemistry from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, I stayed local for my PhD and joined the group of Dirk M. Guldi, supported by a Fonds der Chemischen Industrie PhD fellowship. While there, I explored the nature of the chemical, physical and photophysical properties of new supramolecular donor-acceptor systems. In 2009, I visited Joe Hupp’s group at Northwestern University as a visiting scholar for the summer quarter. One year later, I completed my degree and decided in 2011 to join the Bazan group as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow (Feodor Lynen program).

Current Research

I am now working on the syntheses of novel pi-conjugated polymers and their opto-electronic characterization.
