Academic Coordinator 1 - Undergraduate Instructional Support (JPF01562)

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California Santa Barbara invites applications for a 75% Academic Coordinator 1 position for Undergraduate Instructional support with the anticipated soonest start date of Sep 22, 2019 (first day of fall quarter). The department is looking for a qualified individual with a particular emphasis in the area of working in an academic instructional laboratory. Responsibilities of the position will be to implement course material directives and to accurately prepare experiments for all teaching labs.

NOTE: this is an academic year appointment for Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters with no summer session support; re-appointment is annually with the expectation that an approved academic year curriculum plan will continue to support this position and its funding in the following years.

To meet the basic qualifications, all applicants should possess a baccalaureate degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related physical or life science degree.

Additional qualifications: Applicants may possess 1 year or more of work experience in an academic research or teaching laboratory environment.

Preferred qualifications: Successful applicants may possess 1 year or more work experience in a teaching laboratory environment with demonstrated experience implementing course material directives to include accurate experiment preparation while following established standard operating protocols (SOPs) for each instructional experiment.
