Passwords

It's very important that you choose a "good" password even if you think "I don't have any important things on the computer."  By having a "weak" password, you are compromising the security of other users and the network as a whole.  If someone were to crack your password, they gain an entry point to not only your account but the entire network.

When choosing a password, consider these guidelines:

Your password must be between 6 and 8 characters.

Intermix upper and lower case letters.

Consider using numbers as part of your password.

                Consider using symbols such as   ` ~ . , ! @ # $ % ^ & < > ? " + - _ = ; : { } [ ]

Don't use a word/phrase based on your name or login name.

Don't choose a word/phrase that can be found in a dictionary.

                Don't use a dictionary word/phrase with symbol(s) added in.
