NosonB.A., Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges (1998) E-Mail: noson@chem.ucsb.edu Current Research I am involved in the development of nonracemically ligated CuH as a economical reagent for carrying out various processes in asymmetric catalysis. These reagents have become especially versatile in generating nonracemic secondary alcohols from prochiral ketones, and are being applied to the syntheses of intermediates en route to several pharmaceuticals (e.g., prozac). I am also developing new approaches to ligands such as novel 3,3'-disubstituted cyclo-NOBINs and 3,3'-disubstituted cyclo-BINAPs.
