Investigate fundamental bioelectrochemical reactions – protein voltammetry

Using classical electrochemistry we aim to study the redox potential, kinetics and mechanism of electron transfer between redox active proteins and their natural partners or with a (semi)conductive electrode.  Our focus is targeted on mechanistic studies of protein electron transfer together with theoretical simulations. We plan to study the turnover rates of the chosen proteins in solution and upon immobilization on the electrode in the native state and with mutational modification.
