Darby Feldwinn

Chemistry and SciTrek; UCSB

Darby is the director of the SCSP and director and founder of SciTrek. At UCSB she teaches classes in both the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as Education. As director of SciTrek she is often seen in local 2nd - 6th grade classrooms helping carry out long-term science investigations. In her free time, she can be found hanging out with her dogs, gardening, or corralling her chickens, turkeys, and geese.

Sammi Lambert

Chemistry; San Marcos High School

Sammi graduated with her M.A. in Chemistry and an emphasis in Chemical Education from UCSB in 2020. As her Masters project, she worked with Darby and the SciTrek program writing 6th grade curriculum and teaching science in elementary school classrooms. Sammi is currently a chemistry teacher at San Marcos High School (Go Royals!). She loves hanging out with her beardie, Avogadro, and going to Disneyland.

Kandie White

2nd Grade; La Patera Elementary School, Goleta

Kandie has taught many different grade levels and has assumed a variety of leadership roles in the Goleta Union School District over the years. She is very curious, and she loves to learn new things. In her free time, Kandie enjoys walking her dog, adventuring with her daughters, pursuing creative outlets, and marveling at the oddities of her backyard chickens.

Patty Malone

4th Grade; Monte Vista Elementary School, Santa Barbara

Patty Malone teaches fourth grade at Monte Vista School. One of the things she loves most about teaching is getting kids excited about science.
 

Hattie Ellison

Undergraduate; UCSanta Barbara

Hattie is a UCSB undergraduate student pursuing a Biochemistry major and French minor. She volunteers in elementary school classrooms through SciTrek and SproutUp and is an education chair with the Environmental Affairs Board at UCSB. She loves hiking and baking and hopes to study abroad in France during her time as an undergrad.

Ashley Griffin

K & 1st Grades; Goleta Family School, Goleta

Ashley received her teaching credential and masters degree from UC Berkeley.  She teaches Kindergarten and 1st grade at Goleta Family School. She enjoys teaching kids how to read and also to love being in nature. When Ashley is not at school, she enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, and listening to her kids talk about their LEGOs.
