Nnamdi Akporji received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Rochester Institute of Technology where he worked under the tutelage of Dr. Hans Schmitthenner. During his time at RIT Nnamdi worked on the synthesis and application of a prostate specific membrane antigen inhibitor and its uses in imaging cancer cells. He is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Current research includes ligand design for Suzuki cross-couplings, development of sustainable methodologies to apply in  the use of natural product synthesis and biocatalysis, all facilitated through micellar catalysis.
