Margery Cortes-Clerget obtained two Master’s degrees in Formulation and Organic Chemistry respectively in 2011 and 2012 from the Université Versailles (France). She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Université Paris 13 (France) in 2015 under the guidance of Prof. Marc Lecouvey where she developed peptide-based organocatalysts including a phosphonic acid moiety for asymmetric synthesis. She is currently pursuing her postdoctoral research in the group of Prof. Bruce H. Lipshutz at the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA). Her research interests are revolving around green chemistry and micellar catalysis applied to peptide synthesis, biocatalysis and more recently, transition-metal catalysis.

Fun facts

  • Margery is addicted to Crossfit and could talk about it all day long… !
  • She loves to travel (even if she only visited 20/59 US National Parks) and landscape photography
