NSEP David Boren Fellowships are for a minimum of one and a maximum of six academic semesters (24 months). Award for overseas study is $12,000 per semester for up to two semesters. The level of support for domestic study is flexible depending on the need of each applicant. The total maximum support for a combined domestic and overseas program is $30,000 per year.

NSEP emphasizes a diverse range of fields of study, including business, political science, religion, international affairs, science, engineering, health, law, economics, anthropology, language, history, cultural studies and other social sciences.
