Other than chemistry, I am an opera singer - this photograph is of me from Opera Santa Barbara's 2013 production of Verdi's Aida.
In a project started with Chris Bernt and Peter Burks, I am exploring the expansion of the photo-uncaging of the potential small molecule bioregulator (SMB) CS2 from a variety of transition metal-based platforms, including our CdSe quantum dot-(1,1-dithiooxlate) conjugates.
I also work with the NO photoprecursor CrONO with a variety of materials (ranging from 2PA organic dyes to quantum dots to upconverting nanoparticles) to attempt to sensitize photorelease with longer wavelengths of light.
