Asst. Prof. Song-i Han awarded 2008 Packard Fellowship

Dr. Song-i Han has been awarded a Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering for the year 2008. In 2008 the foundation received 99 nominations from 50 invited universities. After careful review, 20 Fellows were selected. The Fellowship of $875,000 will be paid over five years beginning in November 2008. The funding goes to support Dr. Han's research in developing new magnetic resonance methods with enhanced sensitivity and imaging capability. UCSB Press Release

 

Asst. Prof. Song-i Han awarded 2007 NSF Career Award

Dr. Songi-Han received a prestigious CAREER award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2007. The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of the early career development activities of those teacher-scholars who are most likely to become the academic leaders of the 21st century. Asst. Prof. Song I Han wins Camille and Henry Dreyfus New Faculty Award

Dr. Song I Han, who joined the faculty as an Asst. Prof. in July, has been named as one of only nine recipients nation-wide of the Camille and Henry Dreyfus New Faculty Award. This extremely competitive award goes to both chemists and chemical engineers starting academic careers. The award recognizes her outstanding accomplishments in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance and the bright future ahead of her. Along with the prestige comes a $50,000 award which will help Dr. Han to set up her new lab.
