Info about Crashing and Switching Sections:

Chem 6A has been notorious for having more people wishing to enroll than there are spots. Having said that, it also has quite a few that drop. The end result is many open spaces after the first week. If you are trying to crash, your chances are good...but you have to go through this process:

1.Visit the course waiting list website and enroll : http://www.chem.ucsb.edu/coursepages/waitinglist/f09/index.html
2.Attend the first lecture on Monday 28 September at 5pm in CHEM 1179
3.Attend all the lab sections that you wait-listed for (there are no labs on Sep 24 or 25th) and if spaces are available you can add.
4.If you don’t find space you can perform the first experiment with one of the lab sections you are wait-listed for (TA’s will let a maximum of 2 extra students do the experiment due to equipment and space and will go by position on the wait list. If you are wait-listed and there is no room please try any other section. TA’s will only let you do the experiment if you are prepared).
5.Attend all sections you wait-listed for (you only need to do the experiment once)
6.If you do not get in the first week, then you may attend your wait-listed lab sections on week 2, but may only do the experiment if there are students that have dropped and you are given an add code for the course.

Switching sections is not allowed due to the volume of students on the wait list. The only way I will allow switching of sections is if you find a student in another section that wants to switch to your section and you guys both come see me.
